This year we did not put up a Christmas tree. With a newly-crawling baby and very little patience for decorating, we did a little scouting for the perfect dead tree and used a little bit of imagination. We clipped a few branches and stuck them loosely into a vase of Epsom salt. Thanks to the World Wide Web, we found several great tutorials for
Origami stars, and glued them onto the tree. They made for really great table confetti too but we discovered that babies eat anything paper in reach, so those didn't make the final cut onto our living room end table. Just a few short days ago, this tree was taken down and turned into mulch. RIP, dead tree!
