Flax & Oat Freezer Bread Mix

I love my bread maker. What I don't love is expensive, boring bread mixes that taste like cardboard.  I love having something I can throw into the bread maker the night before, set the timer and wake up to the smell of fresh-baked bread. What makes it even better? It's a healthier alternative to basic white bread!

Egg Carton Garden

About three weeks ago, I planted basil, Nasturtium, green peppers and cucumbers.  I didn't want to spend more than $1, and I didn't!  No need to buy planting cells - I used a styrofoam egg carton and poked a few holes in the bottom so water could escape if necessary. I watered these every day and kept them near the window.  They are are now ready to go into the ground!

3 Amazing Crock Pot Applesauce Recipes

There's nothing like the colors and smells of Autumn.  This recipe mixes the best of both worlds!  It will have your house smelling like warm fall apples all day! The best part about these recipes (especially the cherry applesauce) is that it's just as good warm as it is chilled.  You don't have to wait for the fridge to do its job!

Green Pasta! and Butter Garlic Sauce...

Of course occasionally I stray into the kitchen, where generally only bad things happen at the hands of...well, me. BUT, growing up my mama taught me how to make noodles the old-fashioned way, and I added a little flair to make them a little healthier!

Spring!

The best time of the year is when everything appears to come back to life.  I was on a walk when I came across the brightest blooms I had seen so far this season and I had to capture the moment.

Jamaican Brown Stew

Since we are currently stuck in the middle of winter here in the Upper-Midwest, I have been trying my best to "pretend" that I am somewhere else; somewhere warm!  Jamaica, maybe?  The spicy, caribbean flavors infused with coconut milk will not disappoint your taste buds. This ridiculously delicious recipe has been adapted from Skinnytaste.

Kabob Fun

One of my favorite things to make is kabobs.  They are fun, healthy, quick, and creative!  Best of all, it's just the meal I need to get me out out of that winter blues funk.
