3 Amazing Crock Pot Applesauce Recipes

There's nothing like the colors and smells of Autumn.  This recipe mixes the best of both worlds!  It will have your house smelling like warm fall apples all day! The best part about these recipes (especially the cherry applesauce) is that it's just as good warm as it is chilled.  You don't have to wait for the fridge to do its job!

I made a few recipes and all were equally as amaaaayzing!

Caramel Apple Applesauce:
6 Apples (I used Granny Smith - I love tart applesauce)
1/3 Cup brown sugar

Tart Cherry Applesauce:
6 Apples (Granny Smith or another tart variety)
1 Cup tart cherries

Apple Cinnamon Applesauce:
6 Apples
1/4 Cup sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon

1. After apples are peeled and cored, slice into  pieces and load them into the crock pot. Add sugar (or cherries) right away.

2. Turn crock pot on high if you'd like applesauce in about 4 hours.  Turn it on low if you're willing to wait 6-8 hours. You can set it and forget it until then, or you can stir occasionally.  I like my applesauce on the chunky side so I like to keep an eye on it before it gets too soft.

3. Once applesauce is desired consistency (and your house smells like apple heaven!) let it cool if desired, either in the crock pot itself or in a separate container in the refrigerator. Makes 1-2 quarts depending on the size of apples.
